WILD GUY PHOTOGRAPHY

ABOUT

Working as a conservationist I get to see my fair share of the beauty of nature. The natural world has been a lifelong fascination, but it took me a while to realise I could make a career out of it, and I eventually studied conservation and ecology.

Mixing this with photography was a logical step considering I have enjoyed that for almost as long.
Whether commuting to work through the Peak District National Park, far off the beaten track on a remote moor or deep in an ancient woodland covered in mud and sawdust there is always something to be fascinated by, and usually something to photograph.

The natural world is generous in the wonder it hands out, and I'm lucky to see more of it than many.

I enjoy and am regularly astounded by the world around me. Recording it, whether for myself or for others with less opportunities to see it first hand, is a brilliant reminder to me of what is important in life - finding joy.

The two things that do that for me are my family and the world around me... but my family are camera shy.
In this blog I'll try to share some of the stories behind the images you see here & some of my own fascination with the natural world.

Some recent images...

"It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty, the greatest source of intellectual interest. It is the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living."
